Boudoir Session Tips
Ok, so you’ve booked your boudoir session or you’re thinking about doing one, but don’t know what to expect or how to prepare…
This is for you then! These tips will help you feel more relaxed and prepared for your boudoir session.
Try on your outfits before your photoshoot
Multiple outfits are included in your boudoir session and we’ll plan everything out beforehand.
While it’s not necessary, sometimes clients like to buy new lingerie or outfits for their photoshoots.
If you decide to buy something specifically for your session, please remember to try it on ahead of time to make sure it fits and that it’s comfortable!
Especially if you’ve bought lingerie or outfits online, you’ll want to try them on before your session to make sure they’ll work for you.
The last thing you want is to show up the day of your photoshoot excited for an outfit you’ve planned only to find it fits poorly or is so uncomfortable you don’t even want to wear it.
It’s so much better to make sure everything you bring will work ahead of time! That way if we need to come up with an additional look it’s no problem!
Drink Plenty of water leading up to your photoshoot
In the couple of weeks leading up to your photoshoot, make sure you’re getting enough water each day!
Hydration is important!
It’ll make your skin look fantastic and helps you feel great too.
Water is good for you every day, but especially before a photoshoot! So drink up!
Do NOT worry about blemishes
No matter how well you take care of your skin and face, it’s so common to have a blemish decide to show up the morning of a photoshoot!
Whatever you do, don’t worry about it!
That’s what retouching is for.
Anything that’s not permanently part of you goes away.
Retouching is included in every session, so fret not!
Eat (at least a little) something before your photoshoot
This one is so important!
If you’re waiting to eat until after your session, I encourage you to at least eat a little something beforehand.
I understand not wanting to feel bloated or overly full, but the last thing you want is to feel lightheaded or tired going into your photoshoot.
A small breakfast or a snack works.
Then you can plan to have a full meal after your session.
And if you do want have that full meal before your session, that’s definitely ok too!
Check your nails
A day or two before your photoshoot, give your nails a quick check and either have them done or touch up any polish or make sure they’re clean and clear.
Chipped nail polish or a color that doesn’t go well with your looks will really stand out and distract from the gorgeousness of your portraits.
You don’t have to have them professionally done if you don’t want to, but make sure they’re not a total wreck!
Ok, so are you ready to book your own boudoir photoshoot now?
Let’s do this! And as always, send any questions my way!
