Best Time of Day to Schedule a Boudoir Photoshoot

There’s a lot that goes into planning a boudoir session!

And the time of day for your photoshoot definitely factors into the overall plan for your session.

Let’s talk about the best time of day to schedule your boudoir session!

My ideal time of day for a boudoir photoshoot

I schedule photoshoots to start in the morning when at all possible.

This time of day seems to work best for most clients.

We schedule sessions in the morning so that you’re not coming into your photoshoot already tired from a long day.

This way you’re fresh and ready to go!

Plus, starting your day with a bit of pampering sets the tone for the rest of the day to be amazing!

By scheduling in the morning, you’ll be done with your photoshoot with plenty of time left in the day to attend to anything you might need to.

I seriously recommend taking the entire day off if at all possible!

Time of Day to Schedule Indoor Boudoir Sessions

The majority of my boudoir sessions are done in my private studio located in New Braunfels, Texas.

I love my studio because it has everything we need without having to worry about the weather!

I have a large window that gives beautiful natural light as well as a variety of lighting equipment that I use during sessions.

The lighting I use depends on the look we are creating.

Between natural light and artificial light, I’ve got you covered.

For in studio sessions, the time of day does not matter, although I do prefer the morning (see above).

Is Outdoor Boudoir an Option?

An outdoor boudoir session is absolutely something we can do!

Outdoor sessions can take place in/on your private property, or I have a private property location available.

I don’t schedule boudoir sessions at public outdoor locations.  Your privacy is important to me as well as not having distractions of an audience.

Time of Day to Schedule Outdoor Boudoir Sessions

Most photographers will tell you the best time of day to do an outdoor photoshoot is the “golden hour”, that hour or so around sunset/sunrise.

I’m not most photographers though!

Not gonna argue… that golden hour light is absolutely beautiful.

But we are not limited to just one hour.

Remember, I have lighting gear!

We can create the light we want, so time of day is not totally the deciding factor.

As we’re planning your photoshoot, we’ll discuss the looks you want and I can help you choose the best time of day in order to achieve what you have in mind!

So what’s best time of day for a boudoir session?

Morning, if possible, so you’re fresh and ready for the day!

But really, any time of day can be perfect for a boudoir session, and I’ll help you plan the perfect photoshoot for YOU!
