5 Boudoir Myths Exposed | New Braunfels Boudoir

Let’s clear some things up!

There’s a ton of ideas out there about boudoir that may be preventing you from going for booking that photoshoot you really want to do but feel like you can’t…

Most of these are downright false, so let’s dive right in and set the record straight!

Boudoir Myth #1 – Boudoir means nudity.

This is SO not true!

You don’t even have to wear lingerie if that’s not your style.

We’ll plan your photoshoot just for you, so if you want to be a bit more covered, we can absolutely do that and your photos will be just as gorgeous!

There are so many options for different looks!
You will not be limited or missing out no matter what level of comfort you have of showing skin.

Boudoir Myth #2 – People will see my photos

Also 100% FALSE!

No one will ever see your photos without your written permission, you have my word.

You can choose to have none of your photos shared, just a few, or even just one if you choose.

But you will be the one to decide.  Of course I love sharing so that other women can see what’s possible for them, but I don’t expect anyone to share their photos.

I want you to know that there is never any pressure at all to share if it’s not something you’re comfortable with.

Boudoir Myth #3 – I’m not the right type for a boudoir session

This one is a double no.

There is no “right type” for boudoir.

Your size and shape do not matter.

Whether you would describe yourself as “sultry” or “sexy” does not matter.

You do not have to fit into any label to do a boudoir photoshoot.

Your session will be designed for you and will be tailored to your likes and what you want.

Boudoir Myth #4 – People will judge me

First of all, no one will see your photos unless you allow it.

Second of all, if people wanna judge you, that’s their problem.

They probably just want to do a photoshoot of their own!

But seriously, a boudoir session is just for you.  Not for anyone else.

You never have to show your photos to anyone, if you don’t want to.

My studio is a place of no judgment.  Always.

Your photoshoot is for you.  Not anyone else.

Boudoir Myth #5 – I don’t have anyone to do a boudoir photoshoot for

That’s ok!

You can do it for yourself.

You should do it for yourself!

In fact, I wish every woman would do a boudoir session just for herself!

It’s a beautiful way to honor and celebrate your being.

To see yourself in a new light.

To see yourself as beautiful.

To find your confidence.

Forget the boudoir myths!

It’s ok to be a little nervous before a boudoir session, just about everyone is at first!  But don’t these myths hold you back or keep you from doing a photoshoot of your own.
