What Is Film Noir?

Film Noir is a cinematic term referring to an era of filmmaking beginning in the 1940s, that used lots of low key lighting creating shadows, contrast and drama to tell equally dramatic stories of crime and love and the like.

I for one adore using this type of lighting and styling in photoshoots and the gorgeousness it creates. Who doesn’t want to be an Old Hollywood starlet for the day?!
